G17d-A

The G17d-A complex lies approximately 133 kilometers off the coast (measured from Den Helder) and is made up of two platforms. The smaller of the two production platforms, the G17d-A, was taken into production in 2002 as a satellite. In 2005 the G17d-AP was placed and connected to the G17d-A platform via a steel bridge. The natural gas that is produced from the G17-A field by both wells goes to the gas treatment station in Uithuizen via the Noordgastransport pipeline.
The G17d-AP platform is the first platform where we minimize the amount of carbohydrates in the production water by means of stripping. Stripping is the application of heat to vaporize the carbohydrates that are in the production water. This innovative method is now also being used on other platforms.
